Hello All:

We have recently learned that Pace Suburban Bus Co.'s financial committee has plans to recommend on October 14th to their board that paratransit fares be raised to the max $3.50 in the suburbs and $4.50 in Chicago. At the September 22 Pace financial meeting, it was discussed that 95% of the drop in ridership will occur in Chicago.  The expected number of trips are somewhere in the area of 564,000 because of the increased fares.  These trips are seen as "social trips" and therefore unimportant.  We are trying to reach 10,000 names on our petition by October 8th and we have a long way to go.
