I think I can help.  I assume you are using JAWS, but tell me if you are 
not.  Also, is your operating system Vista or Windows 7.  Vista uses Windows 
Mail, and Windows 7 uses Windows Live Mail.  Opening attachments is 
different in the two different operating systems.
