Dear DHS Team Members: 
After eight years of leadership and service with the Illinois Department of Human Services, Dr. Rob Kilbury has announced his decision to step down as Director of the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS). Rob will continue to contribute to improving the lives of persons with disabilities as he explores other opportunities and positions within the DRS.

I am also pleased to announce that Kristine A. Smith has graciously agreed to serve as the Interim Director for the DRS as we conduct a search for a permanent director. Kris has been a devoted civil servant of the State of Illinois for the past 25 years. She has previously served as the interim director and the associate director of DRS. Kris is a graduate of the Illinois State University with a Bachelor's in Education, specializing in Deafness/Hard of Hearing. She was also selected as one of two individuals by the Illinois Vocational Rehabilitation Administration to participate in a two-year Academy for Executive Leadership. She most recently has served as DRS' administrator of the Community Reintegration Program and also as administrator of the Vocational Rehabilitation support unit.

We greatly appreciate both Rob and Kris for their expertise and dedication.
