[il-talk] Discussion about using a white cane

I think I'm going to explain a little bit about what happened. I tripped on
a bump in the sidewalk and fell. I fractured the orbital floor beneath my
left eye, which spread over my left cheek and temple area. I also broke my
nose. That deviated my septum and caused me to need surgery to repair it.
That was December 14, 2010. On December 15, I started using a cane and have
not gone without it since.
I know I'm not telling any of you who use a cane or a dog anything new when
I say that I have encountered challenges. There are times when I reach my
frustration level. I need to talk and I need to listen to others.
What I am proposing is a conference call via the conference number,
218.936.1200, code 25463 (blind) to exchange thoughts and ideas with others.
I'd like to do it this Wednesday night from 7-8 or so. Anyone who wishes is
welcome to join.
Thanks.

As some of you know, I stated using my cane about six months ago after
another bad fall.
I would like to have an exchange with others about this. I really need the
support.
If you would be willing to participate in this, please e-mail me off-list.
