Subject: Descriptive audio tickets at Fox Theatre

Good Afternoon,

Just want to remind you all of this wonderful opportunity. Please pass this info along !

The Lighthouse for the Blind and the Fox Theatre have partnered to bring descriptive audio shows back to the Fox! The Lighthouse will be offering to pay half the price of show tickets for a legally blind individual and their companion.

The shows being offered at half price are:

"Next to Normal" on 4/21/11 at 8:00 p.m.

This highly emotional Pulitzer Prize-winning musical with its Tony Award-winning score by Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt follows the lives of the Goodman family as they attempt to cope with various crises in their daily lives. The protagonist, Diana, is a bipolar mother who seeks to find a way of coping with her disease and the disturbing memory of the loss of her teenage son. In a house full of memories which both haunt and strengthen the members of the family, the characters search for the inner strength and peace to hold their family together and to lead a normal, well, maybe next to normal, life.

NOTE: This musical contains several themes such as bipolar disorders, depression, suicide, and drug use which may not be appropriate for younger audiances.

"Jersey Boys" on 5/19/11 at 8:00 p.m.

This Tony Award-winning musical presents a dramatized rock-and-roll documentary of the members of the famous 1960s band, The Four Seasons. Each of the band's members - Tommy DeVito, Bob Gaudio, Nick Massi, and, of course, Frankie Valli - take turns in the narrator's chair, reflecting on the band's history, fame, run-ins with the mob, successful and failed relationships, and eventual break-up. The score highlights many of the band's acclaimed numbers, and is sure to rock the house all the way to Jersey.

"Billy Elliot" on 11/10/11 at 8:00 p.m.

This Tony Award-winning musical features the life story of yet another musical sensation. Billy Elliot is a motherless boy growing up amist his father's involvement in the 1984 British Coal Miners' Strike. One day, after leaving his boxing lessons, Billy becomes intrigued by the art of ballet and immediately signs up for lessons, much to the outrage of his father and elder brother. Billy must help his family to see the joy he finds in the dance and strives to pursue an ambitious life goal of trying out for the Royal Ballet School. The score is written by the renowned Sir Elton John and is sure to captivate audiances with its "moving" and comedic performance.

· All legally blind individuals that attend a show will be asked to complete a short survey regarding their experience using the descriptive audio. This is so we can continue to improve the service to best meet the needs of the targeted audience so that they gain the fullest experience of the show as possible.

· Tickets must be purchased at least 2 weeks before each show date.

· For more information or to purchase a ticket, please contact Angie Yorke at the St. Louis Lighthouse for the Blind.
