Hello everyone,

I just completed a move, and I'm in a beautiful new house. I want to talk to all of you about an opportunity the membership committee has for all NFBI members. We are working on a membership brochure for distribution to agencies, doctors, schools, and other interested parties that describes what we do in the National Federation of the Blind of Illinois. The brochure will describe each chapter and division within our state organization. Anyone who wants to submit a piece for inclusion in the brochure may do so by emailing it to me off list. You can write about your chapter, your experiences, or anything pertaining to the organization. I will pick the best work from the pile and the committee will decide which ones will be included in the brochure.

Don't be shy, keep the submissions rolling in. We want this to reflect on the general membership so that perspective members can get a glimpse of who we are as a state affiliate. Please have all submission to me by Wednesday August 15th. This has the potential to be a fun project, demonstrating the talents of our membership. While writing, try and focus on membership and how joining the NFB has affected you in your day-to-day life. What have you gained from joining the NFB? What has the NFB taught you, and what have you taught the NFB? These are simply guidelines to get you started. Feel free to expand the ideas and make them your own. Have a great weekend all and I look forward to reading your submissions. Please send all submissions to: dale.sczweck at gmail.com, please be sure to include your name and the words, "brochure submission" in the subject line.

Take care all and thanks for your continuing support. The membership committee could not exist without the collective efforts of our members across the state. Happy writing :)
