Four members of the LIFE Group, our weekly Braille reading group, entered as a team in the NFB Braille Readers Are Leaders contest.  Those four were Denise Avant, Debbie Pittman, Liz Bottner, and Bob Gardner.  

The contest started on November 1, and ended on Louis Braille's birthday, January 4.  The goal for the team, the only team in Illinois, was to read 5300 pages as a group.  But as it turned out, the team read a total of 6940 pages!  Pages read were Denise, 3012; Debbie, 2401; Liz, 917; and Bob, 610.  

All in all, the team did great, clearly reading over 100 pages a day during the contest.
