It rained, it shined, but I hope all had a good time at the Chicago Chapter Picnic Saturday. The weekend is over, but wait, there's more!
This upcoming Saturday, July 21, Chicagoans (and we, weekend Chicagoans) and a lot of out of town visitors are going to come together to pronounce our pride in the Disability Pride Parade. And We, the National Federation of the Blind of Illinois are marching too.
The Parade will step off at 11am at Plymouth Court (just west of Harold Washington Library) and march north to Daley Plaza. It's an easy walk, less than a mile and there will be lots of entertainment and new people waiting to meet us at Daley Plaza (for detailed oficial directions, see this link:

I marched in it last year and it was great.

A number of you have already said you will be coming, but anyone who now wants to come and march with NFBI please do, and please contact me by phone at
847-899-9801, or by email at gmoore3rd at gmail.com
(New registration is now closed, but new people can still march with NFBI)

Also, there will be a final parade planning committee meeting tomorrow, July 17 at
6:15 - 8:15 PM at
Access Living of Chicago
115 West Chicago Ave

We can call in at

1-866-305-2467

PIN #: 649117

Again, please contact me if you want to join in this fun event and be a part of this little piece of history by marching in the parade.
I hope you do!
