Coordinator of Visual Impairment Services 
Full Time


The Coordinator of Visual Impairment Services for the PACE, Visual
Impairment North of 55 program.  Must have sensitivity to the unique needs
of people who are over 55 yrs with vision loss. The successful candidate
must be able to assimilate the philosophy of the Independent Living movement
and know how vision loss can affect independence and social interaction. 

MA preferred in vision loss, rehabilitation or related field.  People with
or without a disability are encouraged to apply.    We are looking for an
applicant who must have:

Strong organizational skills 
Good time management 
Ability to coordinate
Ability to manage extensive paperwork 
Knowledge of daily living aids and techniques 
Aptitude for technology and the skill of teaching computer use with
adaptations  
Been active in community education and systems advocacy  
Knowledge of disability laws & confronting the infringement of those rights 
Ability to seek accommodations 
Ability to locate peer support and provide support group programs regularly
Ability to coordinate low vision fairs
An understanding of diversity in order to be advisory liaison for the center

 PACE serves:  Champaign, Vermilion, Douglas, Edgar and Piatt so travel is
required.  This individual will provide or arrange own transportation.
Starting salary range is $23,000 – $25,000.  EOE Written questions in
