                  National Public Radio began a four-part series of reports: Unfit for Work: The Startling Rise of Disability in America. The Consortium for the Citizens with Disabilities provided a critique. 
                    
                  The Boston Globe examined the Senate’s failure in December 2012 to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. “A reconstruction by The Boston Globe of the events leading up to the defeat provides an inside look at how the Senate, once known as the “world’s greatest deliberative body,” has become overwhelmed by partisanship—even on a seemingly uncontroversial measure aimed at helping some of the world’s most vulnerable people.” 
                    
                  The Associated Press reported on Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki’s commitment to ending the backlog of disability claims in 2015 by replacing paper with electronic records.
