Thanks Sharon. I think you're absolutely right about this, that jpeg is
unreadable via JAWS.  Someone mentioned to me that hse might have some
pointers on converting the format, so hopefully that information is
forthcoming.

No because I believe it comes through as a picture.
I think people scan documents that way, but it won't work with JAWS. Pdf or
Word or something would work for you, as I'm sure you know.

Can anyone tell me if a .jpg file can be read via JAWS?  I've received a
document as an attachment to an email, and I believe the attachment to be
just a text document, but because it is in .jpg I have been unable to read
it.  Would like to convert the thing to pdf, but I'm not sure if this is
possible.
