[il-talk] Haven Cell Phone

The Samsung Haven cell phone has been popular in the blind community since all the menus will speak, that right off the shelf.  Also, you can write and receive text messages, the phone also speaking them to you.  The phone is a simple flip phone, with the keys also more distinct than most other similar phones.  

The problem is that Samsung stopped making the phone sometime in the last year.  When I started having some troubles with my Haven phone, and a check with Verizon showed there was nothing that really replaced it, my wife Nancy went to Ebay.  

This isn't meant to be an advertisement, but she did find a source for new Haven phones.  They're available at Misty Electronics.  The E-mail is steve at mistyelectronics.com.  

The cost was $49.99, and there was no sales tax and no shipping charge.  Verizon activated the new Haven and transferred my contacts, all that for nothing also.
