Hello Everyone,
Are you looking for a job? If so, you might consider assisting in a project
which the NFB and Equip for Equality are jointly involved. Please see
below.
Attorneys on behalf of the NFB, Equip for Equality, and Disability Rights
Oregon are working to stop the use of inaccessible online employment skills
tests as part of several national employment agencies' and major companies'
hiring processes. We have already filed a complaint with the Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) on behalf of a blind job-seeker in
Oregon and we are looking to file a complaint with the EEOC office in
Chicago as well. We would like to talk with blind job-seekers in the
Chicago area who are interested in working with us to end this
discriminatory hiring practice. Specifically, we are looking for individuals
who are blind, use screen-access software, and are searching for employment.
If you or someone you know is interested, please have them contact Amy
Peterson, attorney at Equip for Equality, at amy at equipforequality.org or
(312) 895-7324. Thank you.
Amy
