I'm pleased to share this note from a former Illinoisian, Hai Nguyen Ly, who is now living in Florida. He is working in research and development with KNFB Technologies. Here is his family news:
The growing family and I are doing well. As you can imagine, we are all tired, however as I remember it, things do get better.
On Wednesday March 27, 2013, Youme gave birth to our first son, Tao
Nguyen Ly. Tao arrived promptly at 9:57 PM weighing 7 pounds even and
measuring 20.5 inches after a fairly easy and short active labor. Both
mother and child are doing well and Song, is
super excited to have a little brother. She can't wait to show him how to
use the iPad and the computer.
Here are some photos. How did we come from this to this?
and this?
Life is truly a miracle. Somehow we even managed to avoid having a baby on April 1st.
We're now starting week four with baby Tao on the outside. I'm continually astonished and amazed at how quickly time has been passing. Of course we learn to enjoy and take advantage of every moment of sleeping time to take brief naps.
Every two hours or so, this little man wakes up to eat, which isn't all that bad during the daylight hours, however nights are nightmarish. I really commend Song, our two and a half year old daughter for her patience and resilience through this growing process. She really loves her baby brother and every time she holds him, I am reminded yet again that my family is perfect. Do we have wants, probably, but at this moment in time, all our needs are being met. Love, patience, happiness, and delirious sleeplessness abounds.
On another note, I miss being an active member of a local chapter of the NFB. Perhaps this will all change when we move up to Massachusetts later this summer. Please give my regards to the Chicago chapter. I know the Illinois affiliate has had a rough year and a half with the passing of members. Please know that you all have been in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that circumstances will allow me to travel to the area sooner rather than later for a visit.
