Hi all, this may sound like an odd question coming from your treasurer, but I don't have the answer myself. Has anyone out there found a blind credit union?
Credit unions are, unlike banks, not for profit organizations and typically have much higher satisfaction ratings than banks by those who use their services, however, because they aren't banks, they are limited by law as to how and to whom they can offer services (Ie, while there are credit unions for lots of causes and a patron/customer/member may qualify to join many kinds of credit unions, any person off the street can't just join any credit union they want). members often are allowed to join for reasons of financial need (eg can't get a loan from a regular bank, or low credit score) or, on the other hand, they may be able to join because they are a student at their university's credit union. I have found some blind oriented credit unions out there, but nothing national, and nothing in IL. anyone found something to the contrary?
