Kayla,

  I am glad to see that you aare in email touch with Steve.  I hope you will 
seriously think about attending our NFB of Illinois State Convention this 
fall.  I also encourage you to start coming to Chicago Chapter monthly 
meetings.  You see David Meyer's posts about each meeting on il-talk. 
Getting involved in the Federation will really help you become more 
independent.

Good news, Federationists! I got a DRS counselor! Let's celebrate!!

More news: I am going to a rehab center in Chicago for the blind. Yes, yes,
Federationists, I know quite well that it is NOT a center specifically from
NFB, but I will learn. I was also offered a volunteer position to teach
Braille at the local DRS center. Also, there is a support group there that
meets every fourth Monday. But I think it is time to take another plunge and
throw in becoming an NFB member.

I will not be going to college this year. I'll hold off to next year. By
then, I will be more self-sufficient. Thank you guys for all of your
support.
