Dear Federation Family,

I write to let you all know that I will be coming back home today and will
be there for the next week.

As some of you know, my grandmother has been very ill for the last year.
 She had ALS.  I am very sad to let you all know that she passed away
yesterday.  I think a few of you got to meet her; she was a wonderful
woman, someone I have been extremely close to. I think she came to one of
our IABS Idol events when the convention was in Chicago.
