The National Federation of the Blind of Illinois Chicago Chapter will meet
at the Exchequer Pub and Restaurant, 226 South Wabash, Chicago on Saturday,
September 13.  The meeting will begin at 1:00 P.M.

 

Our program will feature two guest speakers from the Chicago Board of
Elections, Laura Grim and Audra Lewicki.  They will cover a variety of
topics on voting including early voting, absentee voting, voting with the
audible ballot, and what to do if something goes wrong.  They will also have
a voting machine for people to look at and try.

 

Don't forget our Read-athon, which is scheduled between 1:00-4:00 P.M> on
Saturday, November 8 at Exchequer.  Each participant will be responsible for
a $10 contribution.  If, as a participant, you can raise $10 or more, you
need not pay an admissions fee.

 

Finally, October Fest is scheduled for Saturday, September 20.  For more
details on this event, or to sign up as a participant, please see Patti
Chang.  Tickets are $25.  You may pay at the door.  However, if you say you
are coming and do not attend, you will still owe the $25 admissions fee, as
Patti will be buying food based upon the number of reservations she has for
this event.
