> Dear NAMA Member,
>
> NAMA has joined with other associations, trade groups and non-profit organizations in signing a letter to Congress supporting H.R. 527, the Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act of 2015.
>
> The letter urges Congress to pass H.R. 527 to reform the regulatory process to ensure that all federal agencies appropriately consider the impact of their rules on small businesses across America. As a result, federal agencies would issue smarter regulations that minimize inefficiencies and unnecessary burdens while still protecting public health, worker safety and the environment. This legislation directly protects the industry with future regulations similar to the recently released calorie disclosure and Smart Snacks in School rules.
>
> Congress is expected to vote on this important legislation next week. We need YOUR help today!
>
> We are urging all NAMA members to click here http://namavoice.channeldemocracy.com/connect/write?alert=1662 <http://namavoice.channeldemocracy.com/connect/write?alert=1662> to send a prepared message to your Members of Congress, asking them to pass H.R. 527 to provide much needed relief for small business people across the country. All you have to do is input your name and address and press send!
>
> Thank you for your support of NAMA and industry advocacy efforts.
> Sincerely,
> Eric Dell
> NAMA SVP of Government Affairs

> NEW ABLE Accounts
> Achieving a Better Life Experience Act is legislation recently passed by Congress and signed by President Obama that provides a way for individuals and families to save for long-term disability needs. The act is built on the same principle as the tax-deferred 529 college savings plans. Funds in the ABLE accounts would not affect SSI or Medicaid benefits and can be used for a number of expenses including education, housing, employment training, assistive technology and other expenses approved by the new regulations. A person must be disabled before the age of 26 and receive Social Security Disability Insurance to be eligible. While states still must write the legal regulations for this act, it is hoped that accounts could begin to be opened in 2015.

> USA Technologies Announces Support for Apple Pay
> Driving a New Level of Consumer Convenience at Nearly 200,000 Self-Service Retail Locations Nationwide
>
> MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- USA Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:USAT), a leader of wireless, cashless payment and M2M/IoT solutions for small-ticket, self-serve retailing industries, today announced a nationwide rollout of new acceptance points for Apple Pay, a new category of service that transforms mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay.
>
> This immediately adds approximately 200,000 Apple Pay acceptance points to the growing list of locations officially supporting Apple Pay, bringing the advanced mobile payments service to owners and operators of coffee brewers, vending machines, kiosks, laundry equipment, parking pay stations and other self-serve appliances.
>
> "Our customers are excited to accept Apple Pay at the self-serve locations they operate," said Stephen P. Herbert, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of USA Technologies. "We anticipate that the millions of consumers who frequent these locations will appreciate the convenience and security of using Apple Pay for their everyday purchases, and we believe that Apple Pay will help to drive additional sales for our customers. USA Technologies has always sought to provide convenience, security and an easy way to pay for consumers who are less and less likely to carry cash. We recognized early on the potential for mobile payment, and promoted the technology to ensure our customers were ready for this shift to occur."
>
> Security and privacy is at the core of Apple Pay. When you add a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code, instead of using the security code from the back of your card.
>
> USA Technologies began building NFC capabilities into its cashless payment products and services approximately 10 years ago and has enjoyed a steady increase in the sale of its flagship ePort cashless payments technologies specially designed for small ticket, unattended retail applications.
>
> Apple Pay will work with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch, upon availability. For more information on Apple Pay, visit: https://www.apple.com/apple-pay/ <https://www.apple.com/apple-pay/>

> NAMA Encourages Members To Leverage FitPick® To Help Consumers Identify Healthier Choices Jan 30, 2015 Source: NAMA
> (CHICAGO) January 29, 2015 – A recent Technomic study that revealed 53% of consumers would be more likely to shop at c-stores if healthier choices were available.
>
> While c-store chains -- including 7-Eleven and Holiday Station stores -- are offering fruits, vegetables, snack bars, yogurt and other healthy snack options, according to Donna Hood Crecca, senior director for Technomic, the consumer demand for those items continues to be a significant opportunity for vending and micro market operators.
>
> “The time is now to ensure that our channel is helping meet this consumer demand. FitPick, NAMA’s signature nutrition program, is a low-cost, effective way to help consumers get what they want – healthier items,” according to Roni Moore, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, NAMA.
>
> “Vending and micro market operators are perfectly positioned to leverage this trend to grow their businesses. FitPick is an effective way to identify “better for you” products directly to consumers,” she continued.
