Good. You'll learn safe ways to do all that fun stuff at ICRE-Wood so you
won't need any supervision eventually. Before I went to ICRE-Wood, I was
very nervous about crossing the busy streets and taking public
transportation on my own even though I had my guide dog with me. I was also
fearful about using the gas stove since I had had a bad experience in 7th
grade with it. However, my ADL instructor got me over my fear of the gas
stove. He was very patient with me. The mobility instructor I had also
helped me build my confidence in terms of going places on my own. I learned
Windows98. And I got quicker at the Slate and Stylus. The most important
thing is to be ProActive and tell the instructors what you need and what
your goals are. Good luck and I can't wait to hear about your new adventure
at ICRE Wood.
Leslie
