[il-talk] New Metra, CTA, Pace Ventra App

Patti,

It appears when you choose “Nearby Stops” it only lets you choose to mark a train line or bus route as a favorite. We should probably add that to our enhancement requests or post feedback to the app developer. It certainly would be nice to make a train line, translation, and frequently used travel times as favorites regardless of whether you choose “Nearby Stops” or “Route Tracker”.

You can save a train station or bus route through “Nearby Stops”, but not the specific detailed time / schedule information. Which may be useful for those that use a line or route exclusively and use many different stops on that line or route.

I would personally change the label to “Nearby Train Stations & Bus Stops”. The label “Nearby Stops” may confuse some train riders. All I am suggesting is that they use their labels consistently in the app.

Many of the final route / stop screens require you to click an “X” in the upper right of the scree to close it. This is not an big issue for those with at least some vision; it however, is an inconsistent use of back / close buttons. I am sure the reason they did this was to support the peek and poke features on iOS 9.x for the new iPhone "6S" and "6S Plus” with the pressure sensitive screens. So likely those with light perception through total blindness will likely have to get used to the “X” to close the detailed route / stop screen that pops up once you drill down to that level.

Then you need to click the little heart heart icon which has an audio label of “Save as Favorite”. It is located about maybe 20% down from the right corner of you mobile device. They made the button very wide and reasonably tall so it should be very easy to fine.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can have the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
