We fortunately have a good service alternate for most of the service day.  Route 36 Broadway runs from about 4:30 in the morning until after midnight.  It runs both directions on State Street, passing Chicago Avenue.  It serves Grand and State, the next station south, and Clark and Division, the next station north.  Both these subway stations have elevators.  The accessible entrance at Clark and Division is one block west at LaSalle and Division.
