As Debbie has said, this is really good news. Annette is tough and strong. With prayers and good wishes, I believe she will get through this.

Sorry for my earlier post, thinking I could forward a Facebook message and everyone could read it. I guess that isn’t true.

Anyway, below is extracted the message from a Facebook post sent out today by the Grove family. I think I have the timeline correct. For reference, Annette had her surgery yesterday if I don’t have it correct.

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you for keeping Mom, our family, and her medical team in your thoughts and prayers today. Your calls, emails, texts, and Facebook posts lifted Mom up and sustained our family as we gathered at the Hospital.

The events of this day went according to schedule. Mom was taken back to surgery at 11:25 am. We received report at 2:50 pm that all was going well and as planned. Dr. Dowling met with Allen, David, and me roughly four hours later and shared with us that he believed the surgery was very successful and that he anticipates Mom will be in the hospital through early- to mid- next week.

Allen and Debbie were the first to see her in recovery at 6:00 pm. Shortly thereafter, David and I went to her bedside and we each held one of her hands. Swaddled in warm blankets from head to toe, Mom squeezed our hands as we quietly talked with her. Just before 7:00 pm, Mom was taken upstairs to her room in the Neuro ICU for what is expected to be an overnight stay. She was able to have visitors starting about an hour later. As one would expect, Mom is groggy, but her color looks good, she appears very comfortable, and she is very intent about wanting to say thank you to everyone.

We believe God is the Great Physician and that His healing power was revealed today through the works of human hands. Praise be to God our Father!

“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.”

Jeremiah 17:14

Profoundly Grateful,

Colin for The Groves

Annette, Allen, David, and Colin Grove
