Dan, I have been away from state rehab for almost 15 years but know there is
a financial needs test which probably has not changed. There used to be
services which were exempt from financial need like evaluations and
placement. Someone with more current knowledge would need to advise you.

Subject: [il-talk] Case Denial
I recently applied for rehab services from the state, and was turned down
based on my income. Does the state have a legal precedent for that? I
looked on the Internet at the fact sheet for the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
and didn't see any mention of income as a determining factor.
I know the state has an appeals proces but that takes awhile to be settled.
My job ends in July and I would need to apply for services again if I don't
have a job. Do any of you have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dan
