[il-talk] LIFE Group Braille Reading. Sunday. June 4th.

Wayne,
The LIFE Group is our Braille reading group to help people improve their
Braille reading skills, and to promote the use of Braille. The group picks a
Braille book, and gets together each week by conference call to read out
loud to each other. Many believe that the best way to really learn and
enhance ones skills is to read out loud so you do not just skip over letters
or punctuation you can't make out. I participated for a short time, and
found I did experience some gain, and confidence in my skills, though I am
hardly fast.
 LIFE stands for Literacy IS For Everyone. The idea started with Lois
Montgomery of the BlackHawk chapter, and was pursued by Bob Gardner, and now
Linda Hindle, who is the chair.
