[il-talk] inaccessible again - Reminder: Equip for Equality - Disability Rights Consortium starts in 1 Hour

Dear Mr. Taylor, 

I will forward to our listserv but you can’t just take vendors’ word that they are accessible. This is frustrating from EFE. It is inconsistent with your mission. I spent 30 minutes today trying all options in hopes that one would work. Honestly I expected EFE to have insured that at least one option would be workable which is why I tried all three options. 

Thank you so much for your response. I do assure you that it was inaccessible. I am no programming expert but I have been a longtime successful JAWS user and I do know an inaccessible platform and app when I see them.

Patti,

Thank you for your email and alerting us to the access problems you experienced with our webinar today.  Please accept our apologies. We had been assured that this platform was accessible, but did not test it independently.  We will follow up with our vendor to address this issue.  Be assured that we will not use this platform again if it is not accessible.

Also, we have addressed the accessibility of the survey we discussed previously and transferred it to Survey Monkey, and had it tested by an EFE attorney who is blind.

I have been trying to join this webinar through all three methods. I can’t join because it is inaccessible. There are undefined elements on the web page. I can’t use the mobile ap to join b/c it is not accessible to enter the webinar number and I can’t join by phone b/c you must join on the computer first. This is disappointing since you are dealing with access issues. Doesn’t EFE test the vendors they employ for ccessibility?

You recently also deployed an inaccessible survey. 

I am copying our listserv in case anyone else is attempting this with a screen reader. It won’t work.
