Hello,

A friend of mine from the Chicago ADA25 Leadership Institute asked me if I could participate in a panel that she is putting together for her graduate program at DePaul. I had a conflict, but she accepted my offer to circulate the description more widely. Please see below, as I have excerpted relevant portions of her original email to me describing the event. If anyone is interested inavailable in participating, please let me know and I will put you in touch with her.

Thanks,
Andrew

In my DePaul graduate program, we have a club called XD Roundtable which focuses on events for the Human Computer Interaction students. The degree is heavily focused on how people interact with systems and interfaces and how to design for it. One of the topics of our XD Roundtable discussions have been around accessibility and what that means.

The purpose of this panel event is to expose more students to people who use accessible technology as part of their everyday life. I was hoping you'd be interested in showing off how you access the web and use your phone. I know you use screen readers, and that would be an awesome demonstration to have! Also please let me know what other assistive technology you use!

On the panel I am hoping to have a few people who use assistive technology and a few web accessibility experts. So you would not have to talk technical about anything, but simply show your everyday experience with technology.

If you are interested please let me know. The event is April 27th at 6pm. It will be at DePaul's downtown campus on the corner of Jackson and Wabash. I'll send out more detailed invites once the time gets closer.
