Debbie,

It is getting harder to give good advice regarding Outlook because the
versions change so quickly.  I don't know why ALT-S no longer works, but
there are a couple of other options that you might find easier than using
the JAWS cursor.  First, if your cursor is at the very top of your message,
you can SHIFT-TAB back through Subject, CC, TO, and other buttons and get to
the "SEND" button.  In fact, if you move into the Subject area, it is
possible ALT-S will work from there.

An easier solution that will take more one-time work is that you can enable
CONTROL-ENTER to send a message.  You might try it first in case it is
already enabled.  If it doesn't work, press ALT-F and then arrow down to the
Options dialog and press ENTER.  You can also usually open the Options
dialog by pressing ALT-F followed by the letter T.

You will be on a "Categories" list which access separate pages of the
dialog, sometimes called tabs.  Probably, you will be on the "General" page.
Press DOWN ARROW until you get to the "Mail" category, probably just one
DOWN ARROW.  Now, tab many, many times through the options until you hear a
checkbox that says that you can use CONTROL Plus ENTER to Send mail.  Press
SPACE to check it and then continue tabbing to OK and press ENTER.

This should let you press CONTROL-ENTER just like you used to press ALT-S
and it should always work.

Hi Glenn,

I  have noticed a  similar problem ever since I  upgraded Windows 10 about 9
months ago.  I  cannot use the key command alt-S  to send messages any more.
I  have to find it with the jaws cursor and then root the pc cursor to the
jaws cursor to send.


People using the mouse on my computer have no problem activating the send
button.

No, I have not had this difficulty.  I use Outlook, and I frequently paste
content into e-mail messages.

Hi all;
I frequently copy a block of text and use "ctrl v" to paste it into g-mail.
Starting, maybe, a month ago, the keyboard command stopped working (but I
just figured out that it still works with the mouse--rightclick "paste").
I'm wondering if this is just me or others have noticed this too. It
concerns me that Google may have disabled the command (which I believe
relies on programming code, whereas the mouse uses something more graphical,
in terms of how the computer processes the action) as a way to hinder AI,
automated or otherwise pre-programmed email misuses (like botnets).
My concern is that so often, it seems, the same utility that makes (or could
make) information technology non-visually accessible is blocked or
disfavored by developers (because they block the same tools in order to
avoid access from hackers or whomever they don't want using computer systems
easily). With more sophisticated AI, I wonder if this is a sign of a new
wave of blocking accessibility?
Anyway, for now, I just wonder if anyone else has had this same issue with
"ctrl v" no longer working in gmail?
