I  agree with Kelly.  That is another good book.  I  read it about a month
ago.

Consider the 1971 book "To Race the Wind" which is the autobiography
of Harold Krents. The play and film "butterflies Are Free" are based
on his life.  It is a powerful story of social isolation to full
independence.
