[il-talk] Fwd: Braille signs in Trump Tower

I agree with Lewis, Leslie and Robert. This issue has been brought up and
we need to address it before it becomes a problem in more than one
building. As I stated before "Literacy is for everyone" If they're not
going to take the print numbers out of the elevators, they shouldn't take
out the Braille. We absolutely should be concerned when we
should be fighting for more Braille, not allowing less.

Bill Reees you are right this is an old matter. However, NewsWeek has
chosen to bring this issue up. Sure it is a character slam. Matters
not, the issue is now front and center. Ignoring it and proclaiming it old
matter is a disservice to Blind issues.

So relevance and discussion of how wrong and narrow minded this train of
thought is, is proper for discussion.

after all time and time again, powers that be work to erode our rights and
prop up others. Such as ADA erosion.

That is why we should stay on top of it. Lewis

I agree with Leslie. Do we have to wait till something happens before we
step in? Shouldn't we get word of what could happen and then prevent it
from happening? If somebody were to take Braille stickers and signage off
of the elevators right now and then just talk about it shouldn't we stand
up and say hey you can't do that?! Or do we wait till they take them off
and then say something?! What are we advocating for then? I say let's stop
stuff right in its tracks before it even gets a chance to happen.

Sincerely
