[il-talk] The movie Bird Box

I agree that the issues around mental health are problematic. If the message is that people who have been institutionalized have already experienced so much horror that they're immune to more, that could be a commentary on the cruelty of institutional conditions, and not on the people who are incarcerated. I wish it were clearer.

I just finally watched the movie Bird Box last night. I liked the intensity of Mallory trying to stay safe and keeping the children safe. I’m not into scary movies at all but I enjoyed this one. The sound of the leaves blowing and the intensity of the birds chirping gave me goosebumps.
They should have figured out the can use. It’s just common sense.

One part of the movie stated that institutionalized individuals were the only survivors of the horrible visual monster and became the bad humans. I think it is a negative on individuals with mental health issues.
