This is sad news indeed. I did not know Joe very well, but I know he had a
great deal to do with our gift card fundraiser, which was very successful
for a lot of years. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Mary and the
rest of the family.

Hello everyone,

 

It is with a heavy heart that I write of the passing of long time member Joe
Monti. Though we have not seen Joe in awhile, he was a very active member of
the Chicago Chapter and the state affiliate, having served on the state
board for several years, serving asSecond vice-president for a time.

 

Joe was instrumental in organizing fundraisers both for the state affiliate
and the Chicago Chapter. It was Joe and his wife Mary who hosted wonton of
fun at their church, as well as several Games nights. They were also
instrumental in organizing several October fests.

 

The funeral will be at St. ChristophersEpiscopal Church, 545 South East
Avenue, Oak Park at 10:30 on Thursday, June 13.

 

I understand there will be a visitation, details of which I do not know. I
will post further information as I become aware of it.
