I am thinking of Joe and Mary today. The last time we saw them was at an
Oktoberfest and they both were happy to be there despite Mary's being on
Oxegon. I remember Mary's efficientcy and Joe's
sense of humor. BTW, she is an excellent cook. We used to take turns cooking
and had lots of great conversations with Mary and Joe and Tony and Mary
Burda at Joe and Mary's condo. Of course their cats were a part of the event
too.

Joe was on our board for years, managed many fundraisers, and helped mentor
young people. We all miss him loads.

I'm so incredibly sad to hear this. I'm thinking of Mary and Joe's family.
He was one of my favorite Federationists, and I'll miss him dearly.

Hello everyone,

It is with a heavy heart that I write of the passing of long time member Joe
Monti. Though we have not seen Joe in awhile, he was a very active member of
the Chicago Chapter and the state affiliate, having served on the state
board for several years, serving asSecond vice-president for a time.

Joe was instrumental in organizing fundraisers both for the state affiliate
and the Chicago Chapter. It was Joe and his wife Mary who hosted wonton of
fun at their church, as well as several Games nights. They were also
instrumental in organizing several October fests.

The funeral will be at St. ChristophersEpiscopal Church, 545 South East
Avenue, Oak Park at 10:30 on Thursday, June 13.

I understand there will be a visitation, details of which I do not know. I
will post further information as I become aware of it.

David Meyer, NFB of Illinois

Coordinator and Channel Administrator, NFB-NewsLine

Chicago Chapter President
