Dear Dave,
Would you express to her that we are all thinking of her and that our
thoughts and prayers are with her. Camille has done a wonderful thing with
the founding of Horizons in our area. If anyone has ever gotten a telephone
or other utility bill in the mail, it is likely Horizons that did the
Brailling. We recognized her with one of our awards a few years ago. She has
been a good friend to the NFBI. In fact, I have the framed plaque from
Horizons recognizing our 50th anniversary. She was one of the first people
from outside of the affiliate who reached out to me when I became State
President. 
We wish her the best.

Hello Everyone,

 

Camille Caffarelli, Executive Director of Horizons for the Blind has had
significant health issues of late. She is currently being treated for cancer
in her pancreas and possibly her liver. She has been taking chemotherapy
which has been working quite well. Her tumor markers are way down and though
she has both good and bad days, she seems to be doing much better this week
than she was a week ago when I talked to her.

 

Though she did not lead the meeting, she was on the call for the Horizons
board meeting yesterday.

 

If you wish to respond to this message, I will make a document including
your message and if she wishes for me to do so, I will e-mail them to her.

 

This is all that I know for now.
