Please let Camille know that I'm so sorry she is going through this ordeal.
We all appreciate the tremendous work she has done at Horizons. I think of
her whenever I attend a play and am handed a Braille programme.  Camille has
made a very real difference for the blind community in the Chicagoland area.

Hello Everyone,

 

Camille Caffarelli, Executive Director of Horizons for the Blind has had
significant health issues of late. She is currently being treated for cancer
in her pancreas and possibly her liver. She has been taking chemotherapy
which has been working quite well. Her tumor markers are way down and though
she has both good and bad days, she seems to be doing much better this week
than she was a week ago when I talked to her.

 

Though she did not lead the meeting, she was on the call for the Horizons
board meeting yesterday.

 

If you wish to respond to this message, I will make a document including
your message and if she wishes for me to do so, I will e-mail them to her.

 

This is all that I know for now.
