Hello!

 

The Second City is forming an Accessibility Advisory Board <https://www.secondcity.com/chicago/accessibility-services> ! We're looking for community members with disabilities (performers, students, parents, teachers, theater enthusiasts, ADA experts - anyone!) to meet once every other month to advise The Second City on implementation and enhancement of programs and services for people with disabilities. 

 

Agenda items will focus on accessible programming, staff training, and additional methods to make The Second City and its shows, classes, and services more accessible. The Board’s collective suggestions and proposals will then be brought to the appropriate Second City departments for consideration and implementation by the Accessibility Committee.

 

Community members appointed to serve on the Board shall serve a term of one year beginning June 2019, and ending May 2020. Additionally, qualified applications received during this recruitment will be used to fill any midterm vacancies that occur during the year.

 

The Second City actively encourages people with varying disabilities, diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, and underrepresented gender identities to apply. The Second City Accessibility Committee will collectively appoint the 4-6 founding members who identify as having a disability to be on the Board.
