Dear Clients and partners,

We are pleased to share our Chicago Lighthouse fall job club series. Individuals who would benefit from these sessions are encouraged to join us for these weekly sessions as part of job readiness. Please see the announcement below. Those who attend are not required to have an open case with DRS, or a referral with employment services and are targeted to address the needs of individuals with vision loss, other disabilities, and/or Veterans.

Week 8, November 11, 2019 will focus on "Interviewing from the Employers Perspective". Our sessions are developed for individuals with a disability and Veterans. Come learn some insight on what an interviewer is looking for in their responses to anticipated interview questions. Individuals with a disability, and/or Veterans can experience some additional challenges when talking about your appeal as a job candidate. I'd like you all to learn some insight on how to navigate those difficult conversations, and how to speak about yourself in a way that "paints the picture" so employers understand how our audience can do the essential functions of the job.
Come learn this from Helen Wolfe, Director, Human Resources, UIC, Kevin Irvine, Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant, Individuals with Disabilities, Rush University Medical Center, and Dawn Rose, Director of Planning & Human Capital, Northwestern Medicine

The sessions will be held at the Chicago Lighthouse, 1850 W. Roosevelt Rd. Chicago, IL 60608. Sessions are from 1:30-3:30pm.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Warmly,

Maureen Reid
