OUR MEETING FOR THIS MONTH

Please join us, the NFBI Blackhawk Chapter, at our monthly meeting on
Saturday, October 12. The meeting is open to everyone, and starts at 1 PM.
We meet at the Hope Creek Care Center at 4343Kennedy Drive, East Moline, IL.

This month our program will be a mobility exercise involving all those
attending the meeting. Come with your white cane as we practice our mobility
skills, and perhaps improve them. This exercise will be done within and
around our meeting room, and will not involve any outside travel. A great
way to honor October, the White Cane Month.

After that, time allowing, we will discuss blindness. Possible topics could
be:

*	are you comfortable discussing your blindness with others?
*	do you now, or in the past, tried to hide your blindness from
others?
*	are you now, or in the past, uncomfortable letting others see you
using a white cane?
*	what are some of the things that sighted people do to you that bug
you?

UNABLE TO ATTEND?

Feel free to call in and interact with us by teleconference. Please call
605-313-4819. Use code HAWK, or 4295.
