Chicago’s 2020 e-scooter pilot comes to an end on Saturday (December 12). We are gearing up for a comprehensive evaluation to help better understand the future of shared e-scooters in the city. Hello Chicago Chapter Legislative Committee Members & Chicago Chapter Members,

During our last chapter meeting, the issue of accessibility in relation to the informational cards attached to the scooters was raised. Following our chapter meeting, I reached out to the City of Chicago Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities and spoke to their Senior Policy Analyst Laurie Dittman regarding the issues raised at our meeting regarding the lack of raised, large print, as well as our wish to be actively involved and given a voice in matters related to any future scooter plans the city may be considering. 

She was very glad to hear from us and asked directly that those who had experienced any issues with the scooters be present at the upcoming stakeholder meeting on Monday, December 22 from 1:00-2:30pm as well as representation from our chapter to ensure our concerns are heard and addressed. Because of this I would suggest that our chapter's legislative committee meet to ensure our representation and compile our concerns. 

I would like to propose that the Chicago Chapter Legislative Committee meet tomorrow, Friday, December 18th at 6pm. The zoom information for the Chicago Chapter Legislative Committee meeting can be found after the next sentence. For all those interested in attending Monday's City of Chicago Scooter Stakeholder Meeting, I have included the zoom information after my signature line.
