Dear Members,

The Chicago Chapter's Legislative committee has been in contact with and
have now sent over an overview of our proposal for the City of Chicago to
members of the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities and the
Department of Transportation. We have asked them to include these
requirements when establishing any current or future plans for scooters. It
includes the following provisions:

1. All printed, identifying information on the scooter needs to be in
both braille & raised print.

2. The requirement of a minimum sound standard.

We maintain that not only is it the job of the city to enforce these
standards, no future contract should be made that does not explicitly
require these standards.

This Tuesday, December 22 from 1pm-2:30pm, the City will hold a Post-Pileo
E-Scooter Stakeholder meeting to hear feedback on the scooter pilot
program. We have three members who will speak on our behalf. Two on their
experiences with the scooters, Eilleen Truschke and Steve Hastalis, and
Debbie Stein on behalf of our chapter as a whole.

Should you wish to join the meeting the following are the zoom details:

Tuesday, December 22nd, 1pm-2:30pm
