Dear Dave,

Thank you so much for posting this information. Here are a couple of other
ideas for those who prefer to get information the old-fashioned way, by
picking up the telephone:

Call the Board of Elections at 312-814-3500. You have to go through a bit of
a phone tree, but you can get to a human who will ask for your zip code and
address and will provide the information about your state legislators.

Call your public library and ask for a reference librarian. In most cases,
reference librarians are awesome. If they don't know something, they make it
their business to find out. You can reach the reference department at the
Harold Washington Library in Chicago at 312-747-4300, extension 1; you don't
have to be a Chicagoan - they're happy to help.

The important thing is that we bombard our legislators with calls about
opposing this legislation!

Debbie

Hello Everyone,

Hear is what one needs to do in order to find their legislators.

1. Go to www.ilga.gov

2. Go to legislator lookup and press enter.

3. Go to mobile district-official search and press enter.

4. Down arrow until you get to an edit box. Type your full address
including your five digit zip or your 9 digit zip code if you know it.

5. Tab twice to the find address button and press enter.

6. An ok button will appear. Enter on it.

7. Tab once to get to confirm address button and press enter. As you
arrow down, you will find your elected officials with your congressman
first, your state rep second and your state senator third.

I will be putting up a list of house members later in the day. However, you
will need to know how to look up your official if you do not know which
legislative district you live in. If you have any questions please call me
at 708-606-70091.

David Meyer, NFB of Illinois

Coordinator and Channel Administrator, NFB-NewsLine

Chicago Chapter President
