Braille Production

 

Horizons for the Blind is seeking a talented professional to join our team
in Crystal Lake, IL. We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and
diligent employee to join the Production Department. 

 

You will be a valued team member, responsible for helping us to provide our
clients with the highest quality braille, large print and audio reading
material for people who are blind or visually impaired.

 

Responsibilities:

-     Embossing, processing and binding braille documents

-     Packaging all outgoing shipments

-     Coordinating with Processing Department to meet workflow deadlines 

-     Interacting with others in an office environment 

-     Building positive workplace attitudes

-     Other related duties

 

Skill Requirements:

-     Proficient in Microsoft Word, Duxbury and other office and/or braille
related software

-     Knowledge of braille

-     Mechanically inclined

-     Able to lift 40 pounds

-     Strong verbal and written communication skills

to improving the quality of life for people who are blind or visually
impaired by increasing accessibility to consumer products and services,
education, recreation and the cultural arts.

 

Job Type: Full-time

Work hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Starting wage: $10.50/hour
