 That, indeed, is sad news. Mr. Benson was the president of NFBI from 1968 to 2002. My prayers go out to his wife,  Peg and his son, Patrick. He was a nice, down-to-earth, fellow.  Eileen T.

 I have just learned of the passing of Steve Benson. He passed away early
Sunday morning. He had been in a nursing home for quite some time. Steve
faught a courageous battle against cancer for many years. Though he was not
an active member of ours for awhile, he served as President of this
affiliate from 1978 till 2002.

 

I have no other details at this time. Those who have NewsLine should check
both the Chicago Tribune and Sun Times for his obituary.
