Hello, All:
You're right. Fortunately, we passed a resolution a few years ago,
commending Camille Caffarelli and Horizons for the Blind. Camille Caffarelli
is the third charter member of NFBI to pass away in recent week. The others
were Steve Benson and Rami Rabby.
Cordially, Steve Hastalis

Subject: [IL-Talk] sad news
It is with a heavy heart that I write this. Camille Caffarelli, founder and
executive director of Horizons for the Blind passed away last night. She
faught a brave battle with cancer for something over a year.
Having worked with Camille on several boards and state committees, I came to
know her as a loving, caring individual who always held the blind community
close to her heart.
Many of us were beneficiaries of Camille's vision in tangible ways. If you
ever received a cable bill, a phone bill or a gas bill, or perhaps even a
bank statement in braille, it is likely that Horizons for the Blind was
responsible for brailling your bill. If you ever consulted Directions for Me
for package instructions on preparing foods, you can thank Camille again, as
this site was created thanks to Horizons for the Blind and her vision.
If I hear anything regarding funeral or memorial arrangements, I will let
you know.
Finally, Camille, may you rest in peace.
