Good afternoon everyone,

I certainly enjoyed myself at this year’s convention another great one for the books.

I truly enjoyed BRAILLE is Beautiful.

Anil was really funny and I enjoyed all his commentaries. His life story was truly touching.

IABS Idle had some really good singers and music and brought quite a few laughs.

I hope next year I can be in person with everybody.

My love and hugs to all!

Dear Illinois Family,
Congratulations on an outstanding convention!  It was so nice to be able to
be with you - even if virtually - this weekend.  I really enjoyed hearing
the voices of people I haven't gotten to see in a while like Bill and Mary
Lou, Pam G and Pam P, Steve H, and Dave Myer and so many others.  It was
amazing hearing the sounds of home - Cathy encourage members to give and

sharing her wisdom, Debbie working with young people and families, Denise
problem-solving and Patti telling us what we need to do to make things go
smoothly.  It was awesome hearing people I've known since they were little
like Sara and Ellen and Michael and Justin - who probably don't remember me
at all - as they grow into big Federation roles and become the face of
leadership in Illinois.  And of course Marilyn knocked it out of the park
this weekend - and you couldn't tell she was new to this role at all.

The Illinois affiliate will always have a huge place in my heart, and I'm so
grateful to have been able to spend some virtual time at my first Federation
home and with my first Federation family this weekend.  I hope next year
maybe I can be there with you all in 3D.

With tremendous love and gratitude,
Ronza

I agree. Yes, it was an amazing convention. It was so nice to go up there and sing at iambs Idol once again. What wonderful energy and loves that surrounded us this weekend. Marylan Marilyn, outstanding job as always! Congratulations to the new board members for iambs and for the affiliate. Hopefully next year all of us can be together in person in the same room.
With love and gratitude,
Leslie
P.S. although my retired guide dog Gerry couldn't make it to convention because she has transition to the role of an awesome pet, she sends lots of tail wags, doggie kisses,  and snorts to you all.  She was very excited to see me when I got into the car. Gerry, you were so well behaved at convention and you guided me flawlessly. Thank you for being a silent member of the Federation.

Hi Sarah. Could you maybe put these videos on YouTube as well? It's a little difficult to navigate from one to the other on Facebook. Thanks.

?Thank you to everyone who took part in the Illinois Association of Blind Students Pie palooza fundraiser!
Thanks to our incredibly generous members of the National Federation of the Blind of Illinois, we have exceeded all of our fundraising goals! As we surpassed $500 raise, all of our fantastic leaders, Dustin Cather, Ellen Bartelt, Denise Avant, Patti Chang and our affiliate President Marilyn Green all received a pie to the face.
Additionally, our national representative Anil l Lewis drove our fundraiser to exceed $2000 as, the prospect of him receiving a pi to the face lead our members to ultimately contribute $2184.
as promised I recorded everyone receiving their pie to the face. I attempted to describe what was happening and I apologize as my voice was quite sore by this point. All of the videos have been posted to the Illinois Association of Blind Students Facebook and Twitter profiles so, while you are viewing the videos, feel free to give us a like and a follow.

Oh yes!  It was a great Convention, (virtually for me) as usual!
Congrat's to the new board members too!
Well done job Marilyn as you wonderfully Presided as our Il President!  And Congrat's on getting re-elected!  I know you'll keep helping us live the lives we want!
And, thanks to Patty, Denise, Debbie S, Cathy Randal, Dave Meyer  and other veterans   with all your knowledge and wisdom with your guidness too!
Great Convention!
Hopefully, next year we could all be together celebrating the NFBI in person!
