Hello All,

As all of you know, beginning with the November 8, 2022 election, anyone in
Illinois can request from your local election authority an accessible
absentee ballot to be filled out on your computer. Please note that you
cannot return the ballot electronically but will have to print the ballot,
put it in the envelop and sign it in the correct place and mail it back or
drop it at one of the drop off locations specified by your election
authority. This voting option is just one option. It is in addition to the
option to vote in person at your local polling place. We as blind people
will have a choice as to how we vote!

The absentee voting process will begin toward the end of September. If you
need to know when it starts, call or check the website of your local
election authority.

If you encounter problems with the accessible absentee voting process, you
can contact Jordan Andrew at the Illinois State Board of Elections. Her
email address is JAndrew at elections.il.gov

You should also cc BeBe Novich at Equip for Equality. Her email address is
Bebe at equipforequality.org <mailto:Bebe at equipforequality.org>

Please let other blind people know of the accessible vote by mail option.

Thank you.
