[IL-Talk] Please assist me by providing a convention connection quote or two

I attended my first Illinois State Convention in Kankakee Illinois in
1982. I didn't know anyone and I was scared, but everyone was so friendly
and made me feel like I could fit in. I had never met a large group of
blind people before and I quickly realized that I had found a new home in
the NFB of Illinois.

Is there anyone in particular you met that helped you understand that life
beyond blindness was possible?

My first national convention experience confirmed that guy indeed, had the
right to live the life I want and I was shown a clear path for doing so.
