Hello Everyone:

National Federation of the Blind of Illinois, Chicago Chapter, Annual Summer
Picnic, Landmark Cafe, Lincoln Park Zoo, Saturday Afternoon, July 29,
Beginning at 12 Noon

The Chicago Chapter cordially invites you to participate in its Annual
Summer Picnic, Saturday afternoon, July 29, beginning at 12 noon. As before,
we will meet at the Landmark Cafe near the Penguin House and lion house.
People either can bring their own food or purchase it there.

The Chicago Transit Authority's Route 151 Sheridan serves the zoo, both
northbound and southbound on Stockton Drive at Webster to the west. From
the north, some buses start at the northeast corner of Belmont and Halsted,
while others start on the south side of Devon east of Clark. From the
south, buses start at the Union Station Transit Center, on the west side of
Canal and south side of Jackson. Northbound through downtown, buses travel
via Jackson, Dearborn, Washington, and Michigan. Southbound buses return to
Union Station via Michigan and Adams.

Pace Paratransit vehicles and private autos go to the parking lot entrance
on Cannon Drive to the east.

If you have questions or need further directions, please call Steve Hastalis

We hope to see you all there.

_____

Chicago Chapter Picnic
Those traveling by bus should ride Route 151 Sheridan on Stockton and should
get off at Webster. Buses go north and south on Stockton Drive. Lincoln Park
Zoo is east of Stockton Drive.

Once again, after several years, the Chicago Chapter will hold its annual
picnic. This year, the date is Saturday, July 30. We will begin at 12 P.M.
As before, we will meet at the picnic tables of the Landmark Cafe in Lincoln
Park Zoo.

Hello Everyone,

The National Federation of the Blind of Illinois Chicago will hold its
annual picnic on Saturday, July 29 at the Landmark Cafe in Lincoln Park Zoo
beginning at 12:00 noon.

There is no cost for the picnic itself. You may bring in your own lunch, or
you may buy food and drink from a concession stand at the zoo. If I
remember, prices are reasonable, and the food is typical picnic fare, such
as burgers, polish sausage, hotdogs and fries., as well as soft drinks.\

The picnic is a great time to come together and socialize with each other.
So, plan to make a day of it conversing with friends from the Chicago
Chapter.

These are approximate directions because the Zoo does not have conventional
streets and intersections. Go north, perhaps 50 feet, from Stockton and
Webster, then go east.

Those driving or riding Pace paratransit should go to the parking lot
entrance at 2200 North Cannon Drive. The Zoo is west of this location.

Cordially,

Steve Hastalis
