National Federation of the Blind of Illinois At Large Chapter
Minutes of meeting held Sunday September 3rd, 2023

Members Present: President Dave Meyer, Vice President Linda Hendle, 
Secretary/Treasurer Bill Reif, Cathy Randal, Ken Schad, Marilyn Green, 
and Yvonne Agyarko.

Cathy Moved, and Linda seconded, that the minutes for the August 
meeting be tabled due to the secretary not having submitted them. 
Motion passed.

State Report:

Marilyn reported that the State Convention registration form is live. 
Registration and meal costs have not increased. The convention theme 
will be "Rooted in Philosophy". Registration deadline is September 
29th. Kevin Worley will be our National Rep.
The next NFB Presidential Release will be Thursday night at the 
Exchequer, 226 S Wabash. Friday morning will be the culmination 
celebration of Dan O'rork's Route 66 Ride for Literacy. There will be 
Braille and other exhibits available.

The Chapter, having won last year's IABS Battle of the Chapters, chose 
the theme Snack Songs. It considered which song to perform at 
convention, and adopted Cathy's suggestion: Does Your Chewing Gum Lose 
its Flavor on the Bed Post Overnight, beating out the Lollypop Pop song.

The meeting concluded with mention of the Doublegood Popcorn Fund 
Raiser, set to conclude Tuesday September 5th at 5:00 PM. Some have 
chosen to donate.

Marilyn moved, and Linda seconded, that the October meeting be 
canceled. There would be no Presidential Release, and the State 
Convention would be only two weeks later. Motion passed.

The meeting adjourned at 7:34 P.M.
