[IL-Talk] Wanting to touch base

Hello Federation Family,

I wanted to share with you what has been going on with me lately.  Early in
March I was taken to the hospital.  The symptoms at that time indicated a
possible stroke.  Thankfully it was not a stroke.  However since then my
speech has been unlike my usual talking speed and clarity.  I am currently
receiving speech therapy. The episode has also caused some unsteadiness in
my hands.

I am hoping to be at the meeting on Saturday in person. All I ask is that
you be patient with my slow and sometimes stuttering speech.

I apologize to those who were expecting me to return phone calls or be at
Zoom meetings.  I did not begin my speech therapy until two weeks after I
came home from the hospital.

I have to admit this has been a real struggle for me.  In January I started
a support and discussion group here at Brookdale for residents dealing with
new vision loss. We only had two meetings before this happened.  I am
hoping we can start up again in May.  I want my speech to be clear because
some members of the group are also dealing with hearing loss.
